The second largest kite museum (first being in Japan) in the world is situated in Kocharb area of Ahmedabad, Gujarat , India
Ahmedabad Airport ( Sardar Vallabhai Patel International airport) is well connected and has several daily flights connecting Ahmedabad to various parts of the country and different countries of the world.
Kite Museum opens from 10:00 AM to 12 noon (morning)and from 4:00 PM till 6:00 PM (evening) on all working days.Also Photography in the museum is prohibited.
The museum is setup in Sanskar Kendra, which was designed by prominent architect Le Corbusier. The creative mind of Mr. Bhanubhai Shah was behind setting up is beauty .He gave away his kite collection to the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation which he had collected for 51 years.

The museum consists of varied variety of kites ,but the noteworthy being
16 feet kite featuring local folk dance (garba)
Hexagonal Japanese kites named Rokoku being 20 feet length
Kites with images of notable personalities like Pandit Jawaharlal Lal Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi.
Kites with polythene, spinacle nylon, cotton and paper.
