Australia's Giant Surf 'Wave Rock'

The Giant masterpiece made up of grey and red granite strips dates back its existence to 2.63 billion years!!!!This Giant Surf Wave Rock hangs over like a 15m high wave, appears like huge wave about to crash onto the bush. Isn't that an amazing site to witness??

Reaching there

It is closest to Western Australia 's Hyden which is around 4 hour drive (340 km) from Perth.

How's the weather

Temperature is pleasant all year round but with a hot Summer. Winter rains allow many wildflowers to grow during spring.

Local legends

Wave Rock is believed to have formed by the chemical weathering at the base of an inselberg by groundwater. This weathering produced a concave-upward pocket of dislodged bedrock. When the land surface around an inselberg is lowered by erosion, the pocket of this bedrock is also removed to produce a flared slope.
